AI Meets Law Enforcement: Hundreds of Officers Put MetaCoach to the Test at Axon Week

July 1, 2026

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Law enforcement and public safety professionals practiced high-stakes conversations on MetaCoach at Axon Week 2026 in Nashville. The platform is an AI-powered training ground built for the calls that don't go by the book. An officer talks through a realistic situation out loud with AI characters that react authentically to every word, tone, and decision.

What officers ran

Hundreds of officers from agencies across the United States talked it out live. On the other side was an AI-driven character that pushed back and held its role in real time. The specific scenarios tested at Axon Week included:

  • Maintaining professionalism under scrutiny during "Citizen Recording Police" encounters.
  • De-escalating heated civil conflicts, such as a "Neighbors Dispute".
  • Conducting welfare checks using Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) skills, like "Alcohol Consumption in the Park".
  • Navigating sensitive domestic violence calls ("Non-Fatal Strangulation").
  • Providing internal leadership and care, with scenarios like "Supervisor Mental Support" for fellow officers.

Each run ended with structured feedback on tone, listening, and the decisions the officer made under pressure. Officers could ask MetaCoach for advice on how to handle a difficult moment, then run the scenario again to change their approach. Many of them did, which is exactly the point of the platform: getting reps before the real thing.

The shift toward scalable, innovative training

Composure in a volatile encounter is a trained skill, but building it through live role-play is expensive and difficult to scale. Organizing group training means pulling officers off the street, coordinating schedules, and draining budgets on overtime and live instructors.

MetaCoach solves this economic bottleneck. It allows officers to get their reps in without the need to assemble group sessions or spend money on extra instructor hours, adding unlimited practice alongside existing programs and turning soft skills into measurable data.

"Officers are expected to hold composure in volatile encounters, and the chance to rehearse exactly those conversations is rare," said Piotr Baczyński, CEO of Immersion Labs. "At Axon Week we watched officers run the same scenario again with a different opening line. That is what the platform is for."
